This piece is riddled with characters basking, bathing amongst a mountainous natural spring. Not only does it work as a sculptural form it also serves as a Chinese incense burner. It is meant to hold a special Chinese incense that when is incinerated the smoke settles, and flows downward instead of bellowing up into the air. This causes a waterfall of smoke that envelopes the sculpture creating a cascade of smog, imitating the natural flow of water. As the smoke naturally trickles down, it runs along the contours of the pieces creating a beautiful waterfall like effect. This piece is inspired by the natural hot springs found around Japan, and  is meant to evoke relaxation which is found upon entering a hot spring. Monkey Hot Spring Flow creates a bridge between China and Japan mixing several components from both cultures.
